Great Resources for linux newbies


Getting into the Open Source World™ has a fairly steep learning curve associated with it. Luckily the participatory nature of open source software leads to some great online resources for newcomers. One of the best places I’ve found to get your feet wet is here. This set of courses covers everything from the history of linux to the command line interface (CLI). Of course most of the learning comes from actually setting up and working with linux. I’ll be updating this post with more useful links as I find them.

Kernel Hacking:

I just found this source today. I’m trying to recompile my own kernel in order to optimize the system for my macbook pro.
